“Debt”, a simple word to hear but involves much troublesome issues beneath. Sometimes, it kills people just because they are unable to return it on time or sometimes it pushes the borrowers towards a shameful life with criticizes and humiliation from the debt collectors. Now, the situation has turned due to the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA) made in the 1978 to control the illegal debt collection programs.
The primary focus of the program is to stop the insane debt collectors from their inhumane debt collection programs.
Let us discuss the matter in details.
Debt collection programs are conducted to refund the amount given as debt to the borrowers for resolving their needs. Both the parties set their deal in terms of certain benefits. The borrower intakes the amount to invest in some other parts and instead promises to return the amount (with interest) to the lender within allotted time. If he fails to do so, I most of the cases lenders start collecting the amount by torturing the borrower in many means. This illegal debt collection practices has been stopped by the government.
Debt collection programs are now conducted following genuine rules where both the parties need to behave properly to deal the matter. Any kind of steps against laws can cause in great difficulties for them.
It regulates certain rules, such as:
- No use of abusive languages for money collection.
- No disturbance during the odd hours.
- No embarrassment in the public place.
- No surprise visit without prior notification.
- No illegal action, such as: threatening, calling for fake lawsuits, demanding unjustified amount, etc.
Now, the debt collection programs are much more under the control of government authorities so that it can be conducted peacefully. If there is a problem regarding debt collection, you can register your complaint to get rid from the disturbance.
